Nine people were injured early Sunday morning in an overnight shooting outside the Reign Event Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The nine victims ranged in age between 18 and 27. Two men, 20 and 21, were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but are expected to survive.

No arrests have been made as of Sunday evening as the investigation remains ongoing.

Minneapolis Police Chief Bill Peterson said during a press conference that the investigation “remains in its early stages, and we are committed to identifying every single person responsible.”

Reporting suggests there was a confrontation outside the venue, but police don’t yet know whether it was a drive-by or the suspect was on foot, nor whether there were multiple shooters.

Police from all five Minneapolis precincts responded to the scene shortly before 12:30 a.m.

    More from KARE 11:

Left-wing Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called for more police to be on the street, a break from the Democrats’ typical defund the police and anti-gun sentiment.

“This is a stark reminder that keeping our streets safe requires every tool available,” Frey said in a statement, CBS reports.

We need partnerships where the perpetrators of these acts are arrested and prosecuted, we need to continue hiring more police officers to both investigate and prevent gun crimes, and we must embrace proven technologies from drones to ShotSpotter that allow our police to do their jobs with greater efficiency.”

The Minneapolis Police Department shared the latest update at a news conference this afternoon.
