Rep. Haley Stevens, who’s working for a U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, received caught in an embarrassing state of affairs. Stevens took to social media to boast about an endorsement from Berrien County Commissioner Chokwe Pitchford.
Stevens wrote on X, in a put up that has since been deleted, “I’m really honored to be endorsed by Commissioner Pitchford. Your work in Berrien County is inspiring Thanks, Commissioner.”
The one downside? Pitchford didn’t, in reality, endorse Stevens.
Pitchford took to social media to say that he has not endorsed Stevens and has not spoken to her or anybody in her marketing campaign.
Pitchford shared on social media, “I actually by no means endorsed her or heard a phrase from her group. I promise you, I’ve not talked to anybody, emailed anybody about endorsements, and even hinted that I’d be open to endorsing her.”
