    President Donald Trump arrived in sunny Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after a 23-hour flight from Washington where he was warmly received by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim with a fighter jet escort, red carpet ceremony, a flag waving crowd and a raucous dance troupe.

    Trump is in Malaysia for the annual summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). While there, Trump is also presiding over the signing of a peace agreement he brokered between Cambodia and Thailand.

    President Trump is on a whirlwind five-day, three nation trip through Asia with several high level side meetings planned. On the way, Trump met on Air force One with the Emir and prime minister of Qatar during a refueling stop at Al-Udeid Air Base. A meeting between Trump and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in Kuala Lumpur is being worked on. Trump also let it be known during an in-flight press gaggle he would like to meet North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un while in Korea. Trump is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea.

    Trump heads next to Japan on Monday and South Korea on Wednesday. Itinerary excerpt via USA Today:

    Trump’s first stop in Asia will be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, according to the White House. The president is expected to arrive on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 26, local time.

    After spending Sunday in Malaysia, Trump is expected to fly to Tokyo, Japan, on Monday, Oct. 27, where he is scheduled to hold talks the following morning, Oct. 28, with the new Prime Minister of Japan, Sanae Takaichi.

    Trump will then travel to Busan, South Korea, on Wednesday, Oct. 29, where he will meet leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and speak at a luncheon before meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday, Oct. 30.
