President Trump on Wednesday spoke to a crowd in Las Vegas, Nevada, to tout his middle-class tax cuts and no tax on tips agenda, which was signed into law last year.
Trump signed the proposal, which he promised voters on the campaign trail, last year with the One Big Beautiful Bill.
Kamala Harris tried to steal the proposal back in August 2024, when she announced at a rally that she would “eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers.”
Trump had already been talking about his proposal throughout 2024, but Kamala put forth the totally original idea as the first policy after being installed as the Democratic Nominee.
Trump reminded Las Vegas of her attempt to plagiarize from him on the campaign trail.
“No tax on tips didn’t hurt, did it? Remember I said it?” Trump told the crowd. “And by the way, I said it, and I got it done. You know, a lot of people say it, they don’t get it done.”
Trump then trolled the Democratic Party’s chaotic 2024 candidate switch, noting that Biden “went bye-bye.”
“But I remember I said it, then about a month and a half, two months later she came out and she said— that’s Kamala because by this time Biden was gone,” he said.
“And Kamala came out, she said, ‘uh, no tax on tips. What does that mean?’ She didn’t know what it meant. And people cast her aside. They didn’t believe it.”
He added, “She was a little bit late, but right now it’s one of the best things. I mean, it’s one of the greatest things.”

Kamala Harris isn’t the only Democrat who’s tried to steal Trump’s no tax on tips idea.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, the failed Democratic Arizona Governor, Katie Hobbs, who is now locked in a tight reelection race with Trump-Endorsed US Rep. Andy Biggs, also attempted to take credit for Arizona’s no tax on tips policy. Though she signed the bill into law, State Republicans implemented no tax on tips in the budget, and the idea was inspired by Trump’s policy at the federal level.
Still, Hobbs tried to claim, “I’m working to put more money in Arizonans’ pockets, and we did just that with my fourth bipartisan balanced budget that cut taxes for hardworking families.” She failed to mention that she was actually trying to raise taxes, but the Republican State House and Senate blocked her.
