President Trump went off on a reporter who asked if US Attorney Jeanine Pirro is on thin ice after she dropped a Lincoln Reflecting Pool vandalism criminal case.
President Trump on Saturday slammed Jeanine Pirro for dropping the criminal case against former Olympian David Hearn.
The Justice Department on Friday dismissed the Lincoln Reflecting Pool vandalism case against David Hearn.
David Hearn, the former Olympian who was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for destruction of property for vandalizing the Lincoln Reflecting Pool in June, was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges last month.
Hearn is a three-time Olympic canoeist.
Hearn was charged with felony destruction of government property. He was facing 10 years in prison.
Pirro dropped the case and said the damage to the Lincoln Reflecting Pool was the result of “flawed installation by the contractor.”
Earlier Monday, CNN and Semafor reported that President Trump is considering removing Pirro over her decision to drop the Reflecting Pool criminal case.
President Trump spoke out about Pirro’s move to drop the case.
“That was the one mistake with the reflecting pond, they hadn’t put up the cameras yet…” Trump said.
“If they would have had them up, we would have had a lot of- it would have been a lot easier. And I was disappointed with Jeanine Pirro, really disappointed with Jeanine Pirro. She folded like an umbrella and people get away with things, and it’s a disgrace,” he said.
“The judge was extremely unfriendly to Jeanine, and frankly, I think she choked because the judge was really vicious,” Trump said.
“Instead of going after the people that did it, the judge went after and went after her department,” Trump said. “And I guess she choked. I don’t know what the hell happened.”
Trump blasted a reporter who asked if Pirro’s role as US Attorney is in jeopardy.
“You’re fake news. Don’t ever talk again!” Trump said to the reporter.
