Republican Congressman Andy Biggs won his primary for Arizona Governor on Tuesday, setting up a November contest against Incumbent Democrat Katie Hobbs.
Hobbs ran uncontested in the Democratic Primary.
The Democratic Governor spoke to supporters on election night.

Biggs took a massive lead in the first ballot dump, roughly one hour after the polls closed.
Biggs won nearly 70% of the first batch of results.

The Republican Nominee said in a statement after his win,
I am deeply honored to be chosen by Arizona Republicans as their nominee to defeat Katie Hobbs in November. This campaign has been driven by our grassroots supporters from the day we launched in January 2025 with a clear mission of Restoring the American Dream in our great state. Tonight’s results show that Arizonans overwhelmingly believe in our vision and I’m grateful to have earned their support. Our goal has always been to unite the Republican Party and we’ve done that as much as any nominee in recent memory.
As we advance to the General Election, I want to make sure every Arizonan knows this: no matter what your political party is or your background, you deserve a better leader than Katie Hobbs. I’m going to work day and night to earn your vote, finding the areas of agreement we have and making sure you know I’ll be a Governor for you and your family and your community.

Now, he faces Hobbs, who notoriously stole her election from Kari Lake in 2022, in the November election.
Hobbs responded to Biggs’ win by contrasting herself with Biggs and claiming that she understands Arizonans’ financial struggles.
“This is something that’s personal to me,” Hobbs said, claiming that her and her husband “have our share of financial struggles” and once lost a home to foreclosure. “I’m focused on how we can lower costs, lower people’s utility bills, lower healthcare costs,” she said, despite vetoing 541 bills, many of which addressed affordability, from the majority GOP State Legislature.
