An armed New York PD detective snuck past Secret Service into the Ryder Cup while pretending to be a part of President Trump’s security detail.

Detective Melvin Eng was in full tactical gear as he entered the Ryder Cup. According to The New York Post, Detective Eng also told people he was working for the feds.

    The New York Post reported:

An NYPD detective allegedly showed up at the Ryder Cup golf tournament in full gear and claimed he was working security for President Trump — while out on sick leave, The Post has learned.

Det. Melvin Eng, who is now facing administrative charges for theft of services, may have even gotten away with the golf course ruse — had he not dropped his gun magazine in the grass in front of real security personnel, according to law enforcement sources and NYPD documents.

“You’re out sick, what are you doing at the Ryder Cup?” one ticked off veteran cop said about Eng’s alleged stunt. “You can’t do that. And it’s theft of service because you went in for free and then you lied and said you worked for Donald Trump.”

Eng, 46, who is president of the NYPD Asian Jade Society, allegedly showed up at the Farmingdale tournament Friday in full tactical gear and claimed he was working security for the visiting president.

Detective Eng was kicked out of the tournament after he dropped his magazine.

This latest security breach comes after it was revealed a Secret Service agent fell asleep at the United Nations General Assembly and left his automatic rifle unattended.

This is nuts. @SecretService let this guy into the Ryder Cup. Coupled with the USSS UD officer falling asleep on the job at UNGA last week and the missed Glock at Trump’s golf course in Virginia Labor Day weekend, this raises serious questions about the Secret Service’s… https://t.co/dJKpBEW9b7
