The pressure is mounting on RINO Senate Majority Leader John Thune and the do-nothing Republican establishment.

Senator Jim Banks (R-IN) has become the third Republican senator to publicly oppose the upcoming August recess until the Senate passes President Trump’s SAVE America Act.

    Tomi Lahren:
There’s a lot of frustration, Senator, with you and your fellow senators, quite frankly. Republicans are frustrated that their Republican senators aren’t able to get voter ID, proof of citizenship, and some of the other parts of the SAVE America Act across the finish line. I want you to shoot it very straight with us: Is there a chance—is there a snowball’s chance in hell—that we get the SAVE America Act, in any iteration, through the Senate and to the president?

    Sen. Jim Banks:
Well, this is the fifth time the House has passed the SAVE America Act. I’m frustrated, too. The Senate should abandon the so-called traditions and the filibuster rules—nuke the filibuster and do whatever it takes to pass the SAVE America Act. I think the NDAA and the upcoming reconciliation package that the House is going to send over to the Senate are the best opportunities that we have to pass the SAVE America Act, requiring voter ID.

The NDAA is very important for our troops and our military. By the way, Democrats are blocking funding for our military at a time when we need to replenish our munitions stockpiles and support our military. So, that’s the perfect bill to put the SAVE America Act in. The Democrats are all against it. They don’t want to support our military, and the Democrats don’t want voter ID.

So, let’s put every Republican on the record in support of it, pass it, save this country, and head into the midterms with the best hand that we have to keep the majorities in the House and the Senate. I fear what will happen if we don’t pass the SAVE America Act on Election Day in the midterm elections.

    Tomi Lahren:
Yeah, I have the same fear. Senator, do you think that you should forgo the upcoming recess to get this done?

    Sen. Jim Banks:
I’m all for it. We don’t need a recess. Let’s pass the SAVE America Act. It’s more important than taking a break or taking a recess.

I’m back in Indiana for the weekend. I head back to Washington tomorrow. I’ve heard from people everywhere I go, from the diner this morning to the grocery store: “Pass the SAVE America Act.” We have to get it done. It’s so fundamental to the future of this country to make sure that American elections are only for Americans.

By the way, the biggest story this week was the Democrat governor in New Jersey admitting that 6,600 illegals were accidentally registered to vote and that hundreds of them actually voted in the last two elections in New Jersey. If that can happen there, and even a Democrat is admitting it, it’s yet the biggest reason and example of why we have to pass the SAVE America Act.

🚨 BREAKING: Sen. JIM BANKS (R-IN) just became the THIRD SENATOR to OPPOSE August recess until the SAVE America Act passes

Banks joins Senators Rick Scott (R-FL) and Mike Lee (R-UT), who have already demanded that lawmakers remain in Washington and finish the job they were elected to do.

Lee fired the first shot earlier Sunday, formally objecting to any effort to put the Senate into recess in August “at least until such time as the Senate has passed the SAVE America Act” and demanding a roll call vote. “Do not assume you have my consent. You do not,” Lee warned Majority Leader John Thune.

Scott quickly backed him: “I stand with @BasedMikeLee. I will vote to stay in session unless we have passed the SAVE America Act. The American people expect us to deliver. They deserve secure elections.”

The House passed the legislation in February by a 218–213 vote. The Senate later voted 51–48 to begin considering it, but the measure stalled after Republicans failed to secure the 60 votes needed to overcome the chamber’s filibuster rules.

When previously asked whether he would keep the Senate in session, Thune claimed he would consider it if he believed there were a path to passage but insisted that Democrats would continue blocking the bill and Republicans would not eliminate the legislative filibuster.

President Trump is also losing patience with the slow-moving Senate.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt recently confirmed that Trump wants the legislation passed before lawmakers flee Washington for their lengthy summer break.

“The president spoke about this directly yesterday. His patience is running out,” Leavitt said, according to previous Gateway Pundit reporting.

The House has repeatedly acted to advance the SAVE America Act. Now it is time for Senate Republicans to stop hiding behind procedure, cancel their recess, and force every senator to go on the record.

Banks, Scott, and Lee understand what is at stake.

No SAVE America Act, no August recess.
