    Seattle Storm Co-Owner’s Wife Curses At Young Girls at Fever Game Until They Cry – For Carrying Sign Thanking Sophie Cunningham and Supporting Women’s Sports

    The co-owner of the Seattle Storm on Tuesday berated and allegedly made the teen girls cry for supporting women in women’s sports.

    The two teen girls were sitting up front and wore XX-XY T-shirts and carried a sign thanking Sophia Cunningham for speaking out in support of women.

    Celeste Keaton, a lesbian, allegedly made mocking gestures and insulted the girls who were wearing XX-XY T-shirts at the game.

    You would think the owner of a “womens” basketball team would understand how unfair it is to allow men in women’s sports.
    But, sadly no.

    Co-owner Celeste was not alone.

    An unhinged disgusting man also abused the girls calling on security to “take the trash out!”

    Local journalist Brandi Kruse interviewed the girls after the game at the stadium.
    This was an excellent report on the story that is now going viral.

    The Storm organization later issued an apology but the owner’s have not made any public statements.

    Last night, my wife and I went to our first WNBA game in Seattle to watch the Storm take on the Fever. It was definitely a different experience, but we ultimately had a good time. Let me tell you why it felt different. For a lot of the people in attendance, it didn’t seem like it was about basketball. It felt like it was about politics. The Seattle crowd was incredibly sensitive anytime Caitlin Clark or Sophie Cunningham touched the ball. They booed relentlessly every time either of them touched the ball, scored, or did anything significant. To me, it didn’t feel like normal sports rivalry. If it were just about basketball, the entire Fever team would have been treated the same way. It felt like something deeper.

    In my opinion, a lot of the hostility toward Caitlin Clark comes from the attention she receives, her elite talent, and the fact that she’s become the face of the league. As for Sophie Cunningham, I think much of the backlash stems from her outspoken belief that biological men do not belong in women’s sports or women’s spaces such as bathrooms and locker rooms. The WNBA has a serious challenge on its hands. The league is making more money and attracting more fans than ever before, but it also seems to be struggling to adapt to its rapidly growing audience and the different viewpoints that come with it.

    We sat down in our seats, which were amazing by the way, and looked across the court to see two young women wearing XX-XY Athletics shirts and holding signs thanking Sophie for speaking out. We paid attention to them a little during the first quarter, but we got so caught up in the game that we didn’t notice them again the rest of the night. Hearing that one of the Storm’s owners allegedly confronted them and ruined their experience is a really bad look for the league if that’s what happened. The WNBA should look into it. I’ve also read that people tried to trip them as they walked to their seats and were cussing at them. If that’s true, that’s unacceptable. Those seats aren’t cheap. Let people enjoy the game and support the players they came to watch without being harassed.
