US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro arrived at the West Wing of the White House on Monday afternoon with a white box in tow as President Trump ripped into her for dropping the criminal Lincoln Pool vandalism case.
The Justice Department on Friday dismissed the Lincoln Reflecting Pool vandalism case against David Hearn.
David Hearn, the former Olympian who was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for destruction of property for vandalizing the Lincoln Reflecting Pool in June, was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges last month.
Hearn is a three-time Olympic canoeist.
Hearn was charged with felony destruction of government property. He was facing 10 years in prison.
Pirro dropped the case and said the damage to the Lincoln Reflecting Pool was the result of “flawed installation by the contractor.”
Earlier Monday, President Trump spoke out about Pirro’s move to drop the case during remarks to reporters in the Oval Office.
“That was the one mistake with the reflecting pond, they hadn’t put up the cameras yet…” Trump said.
“If they would have had them up, we would have had a lot of- it would have been a lot easier. And I was disappointed with Jeanine Pirro, really disappointed with Jeanine Pirro. She folded like an umbrella and people get away with things, and it’s a disgrace,” he said.
“The judge was extremely unfriendly to Jeanine, and frankly, I think she choked because the judge was really vicious,” Trump said.
“Instead of going after the people that did it, the judge went after and went after her department,” Trump said. “And I guess she choked. I don’t know what the hell happened.”
Jeanine Pirro was spotted leaving the White House with a white box amid reports from CNN and Semafor that her role as US Attorney was on thin ice.
According to CBS News, Pirro brought a box full of evidence to show President Trump that the Reflecting Pool damage was caused by poor construction.

The top federal prosecutor in the nation’s capital carted a box full of evidence to the White House on Monday, in a bid to prove to President Trump that the damage to the Reflecting Pool was caused by shoddy construction and not by vandals, sources familiar with the matter told CBS News on Tuesday.
U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro, a staunch ally of the president, made the case in a sometimes heated private meeting in the Oval Office Monday, hours after Mr. Trump had publicly rebuked her for dropping criminal charges against Olympic canoeist David Hearn.
She was later photographed leaving the White House carting a large white box and other bags, which sources said contained all of the evidence collected from the Interior Department that exculpated Hearn and several others from criminal vandalism.
A spokesperson for Pirro’s office declined comment.
