An armed thug made perhaps the mistake of his life earlier this week in West Hollywood, California, after deciding to pick on an ex-fighter who brutally dismantled his robbery attempt.

As KTLA reported, the victim revealed to police that a man in a dark-colored sedan sped down the street before coming to a sudden halt at the location where the victim and his girlfriend had been walking.

Witness Patrick McCloskey told KTLA he heard a woman screaming from the sidewalk, perhaps the victim’s girlfriend, screaming.

“The chaos was so intense, I didn’t know who jumped who,” he stated. “I ran to the door to see what was happening. At that point, I hear her yell, ‘Get the gun, get the gun!’”

Police said the masked suspect exited his vehicle holding a handgun and demanded the victim hand over his Rolex watch.

When the victim refused to comply, a fight ensued.

The masked thug soon realized he had picked on the wrong guy, as McCloskey explained to KTLA.

“But he didn’t know that the guy was a retired wrestler,” McCloskey said. “So, he was able to get the gun off the guy and wrestle him down.”

KTLA obtained footage of the incident, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon just before 1 p.m. It shows the thug in trouble on the sidewalk as the wrestler pins him down.

The fighter explained to a police deputy that he held the gunman’s wrist and placed him on the ground before disarming him.

“I was able to disarm and take the gun from him,” the man said. “I had him pinned down.”

His girlfriend then jumped in to help and threw the gun over a nearby fence.

“I’m the one who ran, grabbed (the gun) and threw it over the apartment fence,” she told KTLA.

During the struggle, absolutely no mercy was shown to the robber by the fighter.

“At one point, the guy’s arm got dislocated, and he just held him down,” McCloskey said.

A utility worker later ran over to help the fighter, holding down the robber’s legs.

The robber remained helpless on the sidewalk until police arrived to take him into custody.
