President Trump on Friday took a swipe at twice-failed presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton during a roundtable discussion at the State Department.
“Today, President Donald J. Trump held a historic roundtable with the mining industry where he announced over $2 billion in critical mining and mining-related projects to revitalize the industry and over $180 million in mining school investments to bolster the American mining workforce,” the White House said.
At one point during the roundtable meeting, President Trump trolled Hillary Clinton.
“There was a woman named Hillary Clinton and she wanted the miners of West Virginia to learn how to make chips, little tiny chips with their big strong hands. I won by 55 points,” Trump said.
“They were not thrilled,” Trump said.
“They didn’t want to be doing that. They wanted to be in the mines. That’s what they want to do,” he said.
“They don’t want to do anything else. I remember that it was so unbelievable. It was very, very good for me. I tell you what, she didn’t get that. We did very well with that kind of thinking,” the president said.

– The Export-Import Bank is investing $25 million into Westwater Resources in Alabama to develop the Coosa Graphite Deposit to support domestic battery manufacturing.
– The Export-Import Bank is investing $25 million into Global Advanced Materials in Pennsylvania for tantalum and niobium to support electronic, magnet, and steel production.
– The Development Finance Corporation is matching a $4.8 million investment into Harena Rare Earths to develop a rare earth mine in Madagascar to secure vital inputs for American manufacturing, such as magnet metal and rare earths.
The Department of Energy is investing $100 million into America’s 14 mining schools to revitalize the next-generation workforce double the number of graduates with mining, minerals, and associated supply chain credentials.
The Department of War is investing over $80 million into three schools for major workforce development programs and technology innovation hubs to train the next generation of geologists, metallurgists, and mining engineers.
