Gutless WNBA coaches: Indiana Fever’s Stephanie White, Portland Fire’s Alex Sarama, and Minnesota Lynx’s Cheryl Reeve

In less than 48 hours at the end of last week, three WNBA head coaches refused to condemn men participating in women’s sports amid the growing controversy surrounding Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham.

This comes after Cunningham took a heroic stand against men competing in women’s sports. The 29-year-old star said she wants to “protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men,” sparking outrage from far left progressives.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White, the controversial head coach for Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, was asked during a pregame presser on Friday for her personal stance on male athletes participating in women’s sports.

However, despite living 49 years as a woman, White couldn’t answer multiple times because she apparently lacks the “expertise.” She even appeared to defend men in women’s sports, adding, “growing up, I played with the boys all the time.”

“As I said, I’m not educated enough in terms of transgender and transitioning to give you a smart answer,” she said. “I would say, though, that I just don’t feel like exclusion is an answer, and I think that we need to have deeper, more layered conversations.”

Also on Friday, when Alex Sarama, the male coach of the Portland Fire, was asked for his stance on male athletes participating in women’s sports, he gave a non-answer, emphasizing his support for “all communities.”

“Yeah, I mean, my focus as a basketball coach, to be completely honest. Like, I, I don’t think I’ve ever had to think about that. I’m completely supportive of people from all communities all, all walks of life, so that’s my stance. Completely, you know, I’m supportive of everyone in the Portland, you know, the community,” he studdered in response. When asked specifically about whether he supports men participating in the WNBA, he said, “I don’t feel like I need to go deeper there.”

Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve on Saturday, gave a fawning defense of transgenders and transgender children in sports, calling criticisms of transgenders in women’s and girls sports “problematic.”

“What’s bothersome is that there’s a faction of people in our country that are making this a massive issue. We have some issues. Number one, we need to protect trans kids. Every kid, to me, it’s a human rights issue. Every kid has a right to sports, regardless of gender diverse, transgender, every kid has the right to access,” she said. “Now, what gets nuanced is, you know when you’re beyond puberty, when you’re in Olympic sport, when you’re, we have scholarships at stake, that sort of thing. That’s where I say that common sense people get together and define common ground to find a way to be inclusive. The answer isn’t no.”

She continued, “It is not the case that we have quote biological men in girls locker rooms. The way it’s being phrased, the innuendo there that somehow transgender women are predators of some kind in the locker room. There’s a lot of narrative that is problematic that we need to address. That is simply not what’s happening. I think we can take on the issue, there are more and more transgenders in our country as years go by.”

She further suggested that girls protesting at games with “anti-trans signs” don’t truly understand the “real problems” after slamming “cisgender men that have held us down for years in spaces like being able to have access to facilities and uniforms and locker rooms.”

    WATCH:

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Reeve even wore a “Trans Kids Belong” T-shirt as her team faced Sophie Cunningham’s Indiana Fever on Sunday.

She promoted genital mutilation and abusive therapy on children in an attempt to own the right and women who don’t want men or boys in their locker rooms.
