    U.S. Customs and Border Safety brokers seized 52lbs of monkey meat from a traveler from Central Africa.

    Fox 2 Detroit reported that CBP brokers stationed on the Detroit Metropolitan Airport stopped a passenger after he was carrying unknown meat.

    After questioning the passenger who was coming from Gabon, a rustic in Central Africa, he claimed it was antelope meat.

    An extra investigation revealed it was not antelope however moderately monkey meat.

    Based on reviews, the person was not arrested and solely handed a $300 wonderful.

    Per Fox 2 Detroit:

    52 kilos of monkey meat had been present in somebody’s baggage at Detroit Metro Airport and that was not the tip of it.

    Monkey meat was smuggled into somebody’s baggage at Detroit Metro, and it was the second bust of so-called ‘bushmeat’ lately.

    First, 11 kilos of rodent meat had been discovered within the luggage of a passenger coming from Togo in West Africa.

    In the meantime, Customs and Border Safety uncovered 52 kilos of primate meat. The monkey meat got here from Central Africa, presumably from the sun-tailed monkey.

    Border Safety says primate seizures are very uncommon.

    The rodent packer and monkey meat smuggler had been slapped with a $300 wonderful. The not-so-funny half is that this type of bushmeat has a critical threat of carrying communicable ailments, which may wreak havoc in people.
