American Airlines is upgrading its onboard snack experience, adding a new lineup of in-flight options for passengers in the main cabin.

The new sweet and savory snacks debut on select flights starting this fall, giving customers more options on flights throughout out the day.

Beginning in early October, passengers on morning flights will wake up to smell of Lavazza coffee to drink alongside new Tate’s Bake Shop chocolate chip cookies.

Kids and savory snackers can choose from Goldfish crackers or Peterson’s savory and sweet snack mix throughout the day.

    Passengers are seeking more choice

The changes come as American Airlines has been focusing on “elevating” the in-flight experience.

The updates build on other recent premium dining perks, such as centennial-inspired in-flight menus and new California wines on board. Customers are also encouraged to offer feedback.

To that end, snacks will rotate over time, according to customer feedback and preferences, so flyers can look forward to more choices in 2027.

“Small details can make a meaningful difference in the travel experience, especially the familiar touches customers look forward to throughout their journey,” American’s chief customer officer, Heather Garbodenv, said in a news release. “This updated lineup brings together beloved favorites and new choices in a way that feels familiar, elevated and enjoyable.”

At the beginning of the year, American also added free, in-flight Wi-Fi, which it continues to roll out among many of its routes.

The enhancements could potentially boost passengers’ perception of American Airlines, which fell near the bottom of a major ranking from the Wall Street Journal that was released in January. The ranking was based in part on customer complaints.
