President Trump, during a cabinet meeting on Thursday, touted his “momentous breakthrough in the Middle East,” announcing that he plans to travel to Egypt to officially sign the newly brokered peace agreement between Israel and Hamas.

“We ended the war in Gaza, and really, on a much bigger basis, created peace, and I think it’s going to be a lasting peace, hopefully an everlasting peace,” Trump said in his opening remarks at the meeting.

“We’re going to go to Egypt, where we’ll have a signing, an additional signing. We’ve already had a signing representing me, but we’re going to have an official signing.”

Trump touted the end of the war, the eighth global conflict that he’s solved, adding that he thought “the quickest of all” would be the war between Russia and Ukraine, which he is still working to end. “I think that’s going to happen,” he said, highlighting the ongoing death and destruction as a result of Joe Biden’s weakness.

“And while it doesn’t affect us in a lot of ways, we’ve got a big ocean in between, you don’t want to see that happen,” he told reporters. “It was a big mistake. That war should have never happened. It would have never happened if I were president.”

    WATCH:

Trump: I want to thank everybody for being here. As you know, last night, we reached a momentous breakthrough in the Middle East, something that people said was never going to be done. We ended the war in Gaza, and really, on a much bigger basis, created peace, and I think it’s going to be a lasting peace, hopefully an everlasting peace. Peace in the Middle East, we secured the release of all of the remaining hostages, and they should be released on Monday or Tuesday. Getting them is a complicated process. I’d rather not tell you what they have to do to get them. They’re places you don’t want to be, but we are getting the hostages back on Tuesday, Monday or Tuesday, and that’ll be a day of joy.

I’m going to try and make a trip over. We’re going to try and get over there, and we’re working on the timing, the exact timing. We’re going to go to Egypt, where we’ll have a signing, an additional signing. We’ve already had a signing representing me, but we’re going to have an official signing.

And the amazing thing is, all of the countries over there, from Qatar to Saudi Arabia to UAE, to all of them, the rich ones, the less than rich ones. They’ve all come together, something which is amazing actually. They’ve all come together for this, and they’re really probably the best relationships they’ve ever had.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump announced on Wednesday night that Israel and Hamas have signed off on phase one of a peace deal.

“Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,” and “all hostages will be released “very soon,” Trump said on Truth Social last night. There are reportedly 20 living hostages in Hamas custody.
